Your Job Search Consultation

The following is designed to clarify our role as your recruitment consultant and to help you get the best out of Ortus PSR if you are actively or passively looking for a new job opportunity.

Initial Interview and Registration

The interview will not only be on the basis of assessing your suitability for a specific vacancy but also to assess your skills, achievements and personality in a wider context.

Not only will we be looking to identify your technical and personal strengths, but we will also explore and identify your career aspirations. Only once we have discussed all these areas with you at length, we can begin to properly advise you. Firstly, we will be looking at your career aspirations:

• Are they realistic?

• Are they understated or overstated?

• What direction could your career take?

• What is the best way to achieve your objectives?

• Are there suitable options currently in the market?

Changing positions is likely to have a significant impact on your career and your life, and at Ortus PSR, we want to ensure that both are moving in the right direction.

Your CV and profile

We will work with you to create a strong profile for your applications to highlight your technical and personable skills. It may also be the case that you have not emphasised key marketable skills and achievements – we aim to identify these at the interview.

The two-pronged marketing strategy to secure the best opportunities:

We will agree on a marketing strategy with you, tailored to your individual needs and to best represent you in the marketplace.

The primary consideration:

We will be to identify current vacancies for which you appear suitable.

We will discuss with you the details and opportunities presented by each vacancy. Should you be successful in securing an interview, we will give you a full briefing of the opportunity and the company’s background, product or services, profile, culture etc.

The second marketing approach:

We will draw up a list of firms based on your requirements (these firms will be the type of organisations that would be interested in your skillset). These firms will be approached on a speculative basis; this approach can be made with full disclosure or on a confidential no-names basis. We will discuss with you the pros and cons of each approach.

If the first marketing exercise has been unsuccessful, we may, after a suitable period of time, suggest a re-marketing exercise. This may cover some ground that hasn't been covered before, but may also revisit some of the original clients, as their circumstances can change from day to day. Once again, this strategy is agreed with you prior.

If you are passively looking we can keep you updated with relevant job opportunities as we appreciate for more senior roles the job hunting journey can take longer.
