Starting Salary up to £90,000

Is Your Current Firm Holding You Back? Financial Planner | Independent Wealth Management | Birmingham | Salary up to £90,000 + Bonus | Hybrid

There's a particular kind of frustration that experienced Financial Planners know well. You're good at what you do. Your clients trust you. But somewhere along the way, the firm around you stopped feeling like the right fit — too restrictive, too product-driven, too focused on targets over relationships.

If that resonates, keep reading.

A Firm Built Around Doing Advice Properly

This is an award-winning, genuinely independent wealth management firm — whole-of-market, no in-house product bias, no sales culture. Just experienced professionals delivering thoughtful, holistic financial planning to clients who value the relationship.

The firm has built its reputation quietly and deliberately: on long-term client relationships, recurring income models, and a culture where Advisers are trusted to get on with the job. Paraplanners and client support teams handle the admin. Compliance is strong and supportive, not adversarial. Technology is genuinely good — it gets out of your way and gives you more time with clients.

This is what good looks like.

What's on Offer

A ready-made client bank of circa £40 million AUM is available to inherit from day one — a real book of real clients, not a promise of leads that may or may not materialise. Alongside that, the firm provides a steady flow of quality referrals and digital enquiries for those who want to grow beyond the inherited portfolio.

The day-to-day is what most Planners actually want it to be: annual reviews, holistic planning conversations, pension and investment strategy, inheritance tax and retirement planning — with proper paraplanning support behind you.

There is no micromanagement here. You will be trusted as the professional you are.

The Package

  • Base salary up to £90,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Performance bonus on top
  • Hybrid working
  • Existing client bank (~£40m AUM) from day one
  • Paraplanning and client support team
  • Quality referrals and online leads
  • Strong compliance infrastructure
  • A genuine long-term home

Who This Is For

This role is best suited to a qualified, experienced Financial Planner or IFA who holds a Level 4 Diploma (DipFA, DipPFS or equivalent) and CAS status, and who has a proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering holistic advice. Experience across pensions, investments, retirement planning and estate planning is expected.

What matters most, though, is attitude. The firm is looking for someone who genuinely cares about client outcomes, takes professional pride in their work, and wants to build something lasting — not someone chasing a quick commission.
