Training & Development Manager – Financial Planning
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 | Hybrid | Established Independent Firm

Are you passionate about raising standards, supporting professionals, and driving excellence in financial planning?

An established, independent financial planning firm is looking for a Training & Development Manager to join their Compliance Team and take the lead in onboarding, supervising, and developing Financial Planners, Senior Managers, and support staff.

This is a key role where you’ll help maintain exceptional regulatory standards and embed a culture of learning, quality, and professionalism across the business.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll manage and deliver all training and competence (T&C) activities, including:

  • Overseeing onboarding and FCA registration for new Financial Planners, Senior Managers, and support staff.
  • Delivering induction and compliance training, including interactive sessions and one-to-one coaching.
  • Creating and managing tailored development plans and supervision strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate CPD records and tracking performance across the firm.
  • Ensuring all staff meet ongoing competence and Fit & Proper standards.
  • Reviewing advice cases and providing developmental feedback.
  • Supporting progression towards qualifications and Chartered status.
  • Maintaining and improving the firm’s T&C framework and documentation.
  • Reporting key training metrics and risk indicators to management.
  • Supporting wider learning and development initiatives beyond regulated roles.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in a T&C, L&D, or supervisory role within financial services.
  • Ideally qualified to Level 4 Diploma standard or currently working towards it.
  • In-depth understanding of FCA rules and compliance expectations.
  • Confident in training delivery, with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • High attention to detail and a process-driven mindset.
  • Professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive matters.
