Paraplanner-to-Adviser Opportunity – Boutique Financial Planning Firm

A unique opportunity has arisen within a small, well-respected financial planning firm for a technically skilled paraplanner who is ready to take the next step toward a client-facing advisory role.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in financial planning and a desire to take a more active role in client relationships. They will be confident, articulate, and capable of making every client feel like the most important person in the room.

Salary up to £50,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality technical paraplanning support across a range of client scenarios.
  • Produce compliant, fully personalised reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with directors on calculations, technical queries, and planning strategies.
  • Gradually take on responsibility for a portfolio of clients, particularly less complex cases, as part of the journey toward CAS.

Professional Development:

The firm is committed to continuous training and development. Full support is offered for relevant professional exams (CII, STEP, CISI, LIBF, etc.), including funded study time and direct mentorship from senior advisers.

Why Join This Firm?

This is a boutique, family-style firm where the work is meaningful, and the team shares a genuine focus on client outcomes. The business is profitable, holds strong reserves, and offers significant growth potential for the right person.

The nature of the work varies – some days are fast-paced and deadline-driven, while others allow time for learning, studying, or delving into complex cases. It’s an environment suited to someone who values autonomy, depth, and personal progression over corporate structure.

Interested Candidates:

This role is ideal for a paraplanner with ambition and drive – someone looking for a firm that will invest in their future as an adviser. To express interest, candidates are invited to submit a CV along with a brief covering note outlining their aspirations.

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • High-level technical ability – beyond templated reports, with the confidence to challenge and enhance advice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to build rapport and communicate complex information clearly to clients.
  • Ambition and curiosity – with a desire to progress toward achieving CAS and becoming a trusted adviser.
  • Have achieved Level 4 Diploma
