IFA Administration Team Leader

Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire · Full-time · Salary to £45,000 + benefits

This is a core management role in a small, independent wealth management practice that serves HNW and UHNW private clients. You'll manage and develop a team of 6 support staff, evolving processes and workflows to enable the firm to scale without losing the quality and personal touch that defines them.

The firm is manager-owned and founder-led, with accessible leadership and a genuine commitment to backing their people. There are no sales targets. The focus is entirely on delivering exceptional client outcomes and building a stable, growing team around that.

This is an opportunity for someone ambitious and thoughtful to have real autonomy over how the support function works—evolve systems, managing people, and enabling their IFAs to deliver complex financial planning work to sophisticated clients.

The support function exists to free up the IFAs to focus on client planning. You'll work closely with advisers to understand their needs, prioritise effectively, and ensure the back office runs smoothly.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and developing the administration team
  • Managing team performance and workflow. You'll be hands-on: setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and building capability across the team.
  • You'll also manage your own caseload and liaise with clients.
  • You'll identify inefficiencies and design better workflows that enable the team to handle increased complexity and volume without sacrificing quality. This includes workload distribution, client communication protocols, compliance documentation, and paraplanning support.

Who we're looking for

Background & experience

  • You'll have proven experience leading a team as a senior administrator or team leader
  • You'll have worked as an IFA Administrator or in a similar support role within a financial services environment. You understand client management, compliance requirements, administration support, and the operational pressures.
  • You're genuinely interested in building something, not just managing it. You want to be part of a growing firm and take an active role in shaping how the support function works.
  • You're organised, detail-conscious, and calm under pressure. You can juggle competing priorities and don't panic when workload spikes.
  • You care about the quality of work and the experience of your team. You're not transactional—you think about how decisions affect people and how to build a culture of trust.
  • You're honest about what you don't know and willing to learn. This may be your first time leading in a wealth management environment, and that's fine if you have the right foundation.

What is on offer:

  • Competitive salary to £45,000 depending on experience, plus core benefits package.
  • Mainly office-based with flexible working
  • Accessible leadership. The founders are present and engaged. You'll have direct relationships with decision-makers
  • Investment in your development. The firm backs their people through training and qualifications. If you want to develop your skills, you'll be supported.
  • A stable, growing firm. No churn, no constant restructuring, no PE ownership. You're joining a business that's thriving on its own terms.
