We’re recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and expanding financial planning firm in Northampton that is looking to strengthen its paraplanning function. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and technically strong Senior Paraplanner to join a business with ambitious growth plans and a focus on delivering high-quality advice through a well-supported advisory team.

This is a non-client facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, values precision and quality, and wants to contribute to a high-performing paraplanning team.


The Role

As a Senior Paraplanner, you will support Financial Planners with in-depth research and the creation of high-quality suitability reports across pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning. You will also play a key role in reviewing and improving internal paraplanning processes, ensuring efficient workflows and a strong compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, accurate, and compliant suitability reports

  • Conduct technical research across pensions, investments, and tax planning

  • Collaborate with advisers and support staff to ensure a seamless advice process

  • Review and improve internal paraplanning procedures and workflows

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial products, tax regulations, and FCA rules

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior paraplanners where appropriate

  • Ensure all work meets internal standards and regulatory requirements


Requirements

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) – essential

  • Advanced Diploma / Chartered (Level 6) – preferred or actively working towards

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a paraplanning role

  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, and taxation

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proactive approach and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement

  • Comfortable working in a non-client facing, technical role
