Learning & Development Manager – Financial Planning

Responsibilities
As Learning & Development Manager – Financial Planning, you will play a pivotal role in embedding excellence and continuous improvement into the adviser journey. You’ll design and deliver engaging training sessions (face-to-face, webinar, e-learning) to enhance Financial Planner and support staff capabilities. Conduct structured 1:1 coaching sessions with advisers, providing feedback and guidance on both technical and soft skill development. Collaborate cross-functionally with Distribution, Risk & Compliance, and Operations to align training with business and regulatory needs. Analyse performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Champion a culture of continuous learning through peer-to-peer learning sessions and knowledge sharing forums. Lead training support during integration of new advisers and acquisitions. Assess adviser competency across advice quality, client engagement, cashflow modelling, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4 minimum; J07 desirable). Proven experience in a financial advice, wealth management, or IFA environment. Strong track record in delivering adviser training, coaching, and performance support. Comfortable using data to assess trends and develop targeted learning interventions. Understanding of FCA regulatory standards, including consumer duty. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across departments.
