Financial Planner
A well-established, national Financial Planning firm is hiring a Financial Planner for a rare 12-month succession role in Sevenoaks: you'll take over a retiring adviser's £100 million client book, with a basic salary of up to £85,000 and on-target earnings north of £100,000.
Why this role
This firm believes financial planning is about a client's life, not just their money — every plan starts with understanding a client's story before any recommendation is made. It has grown into a national business managing several billion pounds of client assets by bringing together some of the UK's best independent planning practices, while keeping every office feeling like the local, relationship-led firm it always was. Clients in Sevenoaks know their planner personally, not a call centre — and protecting that continuity is the whole point of this succession plan.
The opportunity
- You'll work directly alongside the retiring adviser for 12 months, sitting in on client meetings and gradually taking the lead
- At the end of the handover you'll take full ownership of a £100 million book of loyal, established clients
- Clients are used to face-to-face meetings in the Sevenoaks office, so this is a relationship-first, in-person role at its core
- You'll build holistic plans covering investments, retirement and pensions, estate planning, and mortgages and protection
- You'll be backed by the firm's wider planning and investment teams, including an in-house investment partner
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A qualified Financial Planner/Adviser with a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
- A proven track record managing client relationships and delivering holistic financial advice
- Based within commuting distance of Sevenoaks, able to work in the office 3 days a week
Desirable:
- Chartered status, or actively working towards it
- Experience taking on or transitioning an existing client bank
What's on offer
- Basic salary up to £85,000, depending on experience
- Bonus structure taking total earnings north of £100,000
- A funded, structured succession onto a £100 million book — not a standing start
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the Sevenoaks office, 2 days from home
- The investment proposition, technical support and infrastructure of a national firm, inside a close-knit local team
