Company Overview

An established and forward-thinking financial planning firm in the Cheltenham area is seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to join its growing team. The firm is built on a reputation for ethical, client-first advice and long-term relationships — not high-pressure sales.

As an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), the business is 70% employee-owned, giving team members a meaningful voice in the firm’s direction and a share in its success. Advisors benefit from a collaborative culture, strong operational support, and a secure platform for long-term career development.

This is an opportunity to join a values-led firm with a genuine commitment to doing the right thing — for clients and for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic financial planning across investments, pensions, estate planning, and tax strategies
  • Manage an existing book of clients, with a strong focus on relationship management and continuity
  • Handle qualified, inbound leads (typically 25+ per month), with full marketing and administrative support
  • Build client trust through long-term engagement, not transactional advice
  • Collaborate with paraplanners and administrators to deliver a smooth and compliant client experience
  • Keep up to date with FCA regulations, market changes, and financial planning best practice
  • Contribute to a team-based culture focused on shared goals and collective success

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Financial Advisor or Financial Planner in a client-facing capacity
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident in delivering advice across pensions, investments, and tax-efficient planning
  • Comfortable using financial planning software and digital tools
  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (CII or equivalent) required
  • Advanced qualifications (e.g. CFP, Chartered) welcomed but not essential

  • Biannual bonus of up to 20% of salary, based on team-wide performance
  • Profit share available via the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT)
  • Car allowance
  • Private medical insurance and income protection
  • Access to wellbeing and mental health support programmes
  • Hybrid working: minimum two days per week in the Cheltenham office
  • Full paraplanning and admin support to reduce non-advisory workload
  • Genuine long-term career development in a stable, employee-owned business
  • Supportive, team-oriented environment that values professionalism over sales pressure
