Wealth Manager – City of London | Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Share Options
Salary: Up to £130,000 + performance bonus + share option scheme
Working pattern: Hybrid — minimum 2 days per week in the office
AUM: Established book of c.£80–90m across 70–80 HNW clients
We are working exclusively with a well-established, independent wealth management firm based in the City of London to recruit an experienced Wealth Manager as part of a planned succession.
This is a rare opportunity to step into an established book of approximately 70–80 high-net-worth clients, with AUM per client ranging from £0.5m to £29m (total AUM c.£80–90m). The role has been created to replace a retiring senior adviser, and a structured three-month handover period means you will meet clients personally and build trust before assuming full responsibility.
Our client is a respected independent firm with a strong in-house Investment team delivering top-quartile discretionary model portfolios, alongside centralised paraplanning, compliance, marketing, and business development support. Advisers are freed from administration so they can focus entirely on clients and advice quality.
This is a long-term position for an adviser seeking a stable, well-resourced environment in which to build enduring client relationships long term with significant potential for personal wealth creation through bonus and equity participation.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Taking over and managing an established portfolio of 70–80 HNW clients during a structured three-month handover alongside the retiring adviser
- Retaining and growing the client book post-transition — protecting and increasing AUM
- Actively developing new client relationships through professional networks, referrals, and business development activity
- Providing high-quality financial planning advice across retirement, tax, estate, and intergenerational planning
- Engaging confidently with sophisticated, well-informed clients on investment strategy, markets, and macroeconomic themes
- Collaborating with the in-house Investment team, Paraplanners, and support staff to deliver an exceptional client experience
Required:
- Experience as a practicing financial adviser or wealth manager in the UK
- Demonstrable track record of retaining and growing established HNW client books
- Proven ability to grow AUM through both existing clients and new business development
- Strong investment knowledge — confident discussing markets and macroeconomics with sophisticated clients
REWARD AND PROGRESSION
- Competitive base salary (details provided on application)
- Generous performance bonus linked to new client assets invested
- Share option scheme offering potential equity participation — aligning personal reward with long-term firm growth
- Full paraplanning, compliance, investment, and marketing support
