Financial Planner – HNW Clients | Existing Book | Birmingham-Based IFA Firm
We are working in partnership with a well-established, high-net-worth (HNW) focused Independent Financial Advisory firm in Birmingham. This highly reputable firm has built its success on delivering exceptional advice to a loyal and growing client base of business owners, professionals, and multi-generational families.
Competitive basic salary (£65,000 – £85,000 DOE) + bonus + full benefits package & hybrid working
With one of the senior Directors preparing to step back from active client work, this opportunity presents a rare chance for a skilled Financial Planner to inherit a high-quality, service-driven client book — while also developing new business through warm referrals and trusted introducers.
This is not a cold-start position. It’s a strategic appointment for a confident, Chartered (or working towards) adviser with a strong technical grounding in pensions, investments, estate planning and tax-efficient solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Take over an established HNW client book, providing ongoing holistic financial planning
- Deliver high-quality advice across pensions, investments, IHT planning, and complex tax scenarios
- Maintain and deepen relationships with existing clients to ensure continuity and trust
- Develop new business opportunities via referrals, professional connections, and networking
- Collaborate with paraplanners and admin teams to ensure a seamless client experience
- Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal standards
Requirements:
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (essential)
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (preferred)
- Proven experience advising HNW clients with complex financial planning needs
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions, IHT, investment strategies and trusts
- Ability to build long-term relationships and generate new opportunities through referrals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a professional, client-centric IFA environment
