Overview:
We’re working with a leading financial planning and investment firm looking to appoint an Adviser Support Operations Manager for their Borehamwood office. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing both the paraplanning and administrative support teams. The position ensures advisers receive high-quality, consistent operational support, allowing them to focus on client relationships and advice delivery.

The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on operational management role where you'll lead the day-to-day activity of paraplanners and planning support staff. Your focus will be on driving performance, improving workflows, embedding high service standards, and supporting team development. You’ll be the primary point of contact for adviser support escalation and help implement efficiency improvements across the advice function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and develop the paraplanning and adviser support teams

  • Ensure advice workflows are timely, accurate, and compliant

  • Monitor performance using KPIs and management information (MI)

  • Act as escalation point for any operational or service issues

  • Oversee onboarding and training of new team members

  • Work closely with advisers, senior leaders, and internal stakeholders

  • Help shape best practices and standardised advice delivery processes

  • Support bonus scheme implementation and ensure service SLAs are met

Experience & Skills Required:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a paraplanning or client services leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of the financial advice process

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and people skills

  • Proven track record in improving team performance and operational efficiency

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational ability

  • Familiarity with FCA regulations and compliance standards

Desirable but not essential:

  • Financial planning qualifications (e.g. CII or equivalent)

  • Experience using MI tools and workflow tracking systems
