We have an exciting opportunity for an IFA to join my client's lovely firm based in Hertford. My client hasn't hired any new Advisers for years, so this is a rare opportunity that is a new role and not replacing anyone.

As the 2 Senior Partners want to start winding down their careers, they are wanting to bring someone on board to help.  They are open to someone with 5+ years experience advising and a client following (they will offer more salary wise dependant on book) OR someone who is more newly qualified but has a background in Paraplanning.

They are at the stage of turning away new client enquires as they don’t have the time to dedicate to them, so the successful candidate would be primarily dealing with new clients. It is probable they will be introduced to a number of their existing clients depending on their capabilities and areas of expertise too. They currently have some clients who are looking for an adviser with a good understanding of investments, others are looking for holistic financial planning plus have corporate clients with a particular emphasis on pensions and other employee benefits, primarily group life assurance and income protection, so are really looking for someone who is competent enough to deal with all new client enquiries. They are not looking for a salesman but are looking for someone with good  relationship skills, connections and the drive to push the business forward.

They are a really social team with a strong "family type" atmosphere, and the team enjoy coming into the office - even though it isn't required every day.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience as a Senior Paraplanner a must, Trainee Adviser or IFA preferred.
  • Qualified with a level 4 diploma at a minimum (Chartered Preferred).
  • A confident communicator, team player and excellent relationship-builder.
  • Committed and self-motivated.
  • Groups Pensions experience preferred.
  • Ability to build bespoke financial plans tailored to the individual
  • Good understanding of investment and pension products

What’s in it for you?

  • A competitive salary of £55,000 - 65,000, DOE (more if you have 5+ years experience and client following)
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays AND Christmas / New Year closed.
  • Generous discretionary annual bonus - they have never missed. a year paying one.
  • After probation period flexibility to WFH when needed.
  • Regular social events including, a outing or party every quarter, "Thirsty Thursday" a fun filled lunch/afternoon one Thursday a month and hot breakfast sandwiches to all the team that are in office on a Friday, to name but a few.
